Entertainment Wednesdays: Movie Trailer - Beyond The Lights

Sharee and I recently saw the trailer for BET/Relativity Media's Beyond the Lights (Previously titled Blackbird) from the writer-director of my favorite movie, Love and Basketball, Gina Prince-Bythewood.
The synopsis reads:

Blackbird is the story of Noni Jean, a hot new artist who has just won a Grammy and is primed for stardom. But the pressures of success compel her to nearly end her life until she is saved by a young police officer. They fall hard for each other, despite the protests of their parents who want each to focus on their own career ambitions. But he might be the missing piece to unlock her artistic potential.
Beyond the Lights stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nate Parker. Danny Glover and Minnie Driver co-star.

The film is produced by Stephanie Allain and Reggie Bythewood (Gina's husband).

Fact: The idea for the film came after Gina saw Alicia Keys in concert in 2007. Sony wanted Beyonce or Rihanna for the lead. However, Prince-Bythewood fought it. After Sony put the project into turnaround, the movie was pitched by Gina in an eight minute presentation with Gugu Mbatha-Raw, from this year's hit Belle, as the lead to BET/Relativity Media.
Beyond the Lights will debut on Nov. 14.

Take a look at the trailer below.
We would love to read your comments.
Would Beyonce or Rihanna have made a better Noni Jean?
